Default Heated Gloves

Hi

I am considering buying some heated gloves.....

so far my favorit is EX02 Stormshield ones.

Has anyone tried them or similar? I am UK based so preferably available here.

Thanks

I bought a pair of Fieldsheer Eskimo gloves, not heated, but 100% waterproof and very warm. I've worn them in 34 degree weather at 65 mph and they kept my hands plenty warm.

Jim,

How long did you ride that way?

I have the Eskimo gloves too but, even with my heated grips on full blast when it gets down into the 30's, I start thinking about heated gloves and clothing.

I don't use the electrics for my 20 mile commute but, if I were going to ride 100 miles or more, I'd definitely suit up in the heated gear.

YMMV,

What temperatures are you riding down to? How long?
Have you found a temperature where they actually don't seem to be enough?
Have you ever had the original Gerbing heated gloves?
If so how does the G3 compare?

I rode from Astoria to St Helens, Columbia River Honda, about 80 miles. It of course wasn't 34 the entire trip, but for the last 20 miles or so it was.

Paul,

I currently use the G3 gloves and previously owned a couple pairs of the original Gerbing gloves. The old style gloves are definitely much warmer since they had heated elements on the top and palm side of the glove........the G3 is heated only on the top of the glove and I normally use the heated grips on my BMW GS Adventure/KLR 650 to supplement the G3s. The G3 gloves are less bulky with better tactile feel and I routinely ride in the 20's with no frozen fingers for a couple of hours. I've used the G3s for over 2 years, they show no wear, and I would buy them again.

I find the heated grips are enough for me, down to 0C /32F but maybe I am hot blooded.

This morning one of the local crew reported in that his new G3's with the Microwire heat-um-up was not what I wanted. Although he raved about the Microwire jacket liner he was not impressed with the G3's. 28 degree morning, I think the real feel was 24, he said he had what felt like cold spots in the gloves. He did say they felt better today than they did on Monday's ride and thinks a breaking period might be in order before completely applying the standard badmouth.
My old style Gerbings that I refer to as boxing gloves from their seer size are still working great but have approached antique status and retirement age, they have to be 20 years old at the very least.
Everybody was standing around badmouthing their Tour-masters last week but in all fairness we saw 21 degrees crossing the river, those that came out to play that is.
