Default Questions for Tom Loftus or other cb gurus

Well I installed the J&M cb radio and intercom works well, itouch works well for tunes BUT cb range is less than 1/2 mile. Antennae is a Firestick II 3 footer and mount is grounded. SWR is 1.5 on the channel I use #1. Seems I pick up lots of noise in cb with engine running and people say my transmissions have static in them. With bike not running they say it sounds better. So, I think I need to re-route some wires and I sent Tom Loftus an email but it was returned. The range has to get better than it is now? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eddie

CBs are not my area of expertise but when we used them on boats we had to put a resistor in the power cable. The resistor would cut out most of the engine noise. I remember that anyplace that sold CB radios had those things in stock. Of course, that was a long time ago.

Try calling Mark Reis at 425-335-1236.

He's the guy that actually does all of Tom Loftus' CB work.
