Oh, TurboCity used to offer this mod but, they're no longer in the business of ST1300 farkles.

At any rate, it works hand-in-hand with TurboCity's Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR). They offered a few different FPR's that each had higher pressures than the stock ones.

If you installed the Air Box Mod, you needed to get one of their initial FPR's to compensate.

What the Air Box Mod does is allow more air to flow into the Air Box by cutting an opening in the top front of the Air Box but, sealing that area inside the Air Box with what I'll call a "Sealing Plate" (a metal plate with a hole shaped like the air filter that fits over that area and is sealed to the plastic box with calking) to force the air down through a modified Air Filter (one with the top removed). The modified Air Filter seals up against the "Sealing Plate".

The FPR was originally designed to smooth out the throttle lash that the ST1300 has at around 7000 rpm.

Later, another outfit came out with and electronic solution that worked even better. I forget what it is called but, it does have the word "Cut" in it. Maybe "Electronic Cut something"?

Anyway, the combination of the FPR and a Throttle Tamer cured my throttle lash and the sensitive throttle in 1st gear. Not that I really needed it. One can get used to our sensitive throttles by being more careful how they use the throttle. But, it's nice to not have to worry about that when you're tired.

You also could improve things if you had installed aftermarket exhaust by also installing an FPR.

If you had done multiple farkles (i.e., Air Box mod, After market Exhaust, etc.), then you needed an even higher pressure FPR (which they also offered).

All this is moot now since TurboCity doesn't sell that stuff anymore.

They also had a nifty radiator grill that I got too. It goes over the front of the radiator to protect it from stray rocks, etc.

I had the FCE in my mind, but Daniel beat me to it. Found a nice rad grille, too, from Bike-Quip.

Thank you, Daniel. Fuel Cut Eliminator it is.

I've been told that it works much better than the FPR that I have installed. But, since I would have to pull the FPR and my Air Box Mod and go back to stock, I decided to just stay with what I have.

I thought it was nothing to worry about (probably still recovering from the hang over of the night before ), so there, I started riding and found that engine was not responding as usual, it lacked that punch, pulled over and did reved the throttle few times and heard this low faded prrr sound (haha you understand..I hope!), .also I noticed that going at 3000 RPMs ( at any speed ) the engine would feel unresponsive.

I hope my rudimentary English can give you a hint of what it could be.

I am planning taking the bike with the mechanic to do some valve measurement and change spark plugs, I expect this should cure my problem, but it may be something else that I am overlooking.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Saludos!!

I been reading Your post (this one ) many times and to be honest it is very hard to understand the description of the problem . . . but,Your description seems to match pretty good with the plugged up 5-way vacuum Tee,like WJIBERTRAND (Jeff) mentionned in post #3 and I had that problem on My 2003 a couple of years ago but I had an FI indication.

I also remember reading ,on a forum somewere ,that some ST Owners had the same problem BUT WITH NO FI indication .

Please try to redescribe the problem . . .did You had any back fire when You twisted the throttle ?

Got You there Scott . . .

That is a nice radiator grille . . . a very nice one in fact and it is made out of stainless ,but it came out on the market to late for me because I builted mine on my ST with aluminium in the winter 2002 to 2003 http://www.st1300.us.com/album.php?a...&pictureid=262
