Default ST1300 Rearview Mirror Location

Iíve got a slight problem that maybe someone knows the fix for. I replaced the right side rearview mirror on my ST1300 after dropping the bike. The problem is that the new rearview mirror sticks out of the mirror fairing a great deal further than the original one on the left side. The mirror stalk feels like it has an indent and I wonder if that can be adjusted to move the mirror deeper in the mirror fairing. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chuck Lawrence

Without laying hands-on, and actually looking, it sounds like the fairing support has bent.

You'd have to pull the plastic off to get at it. Once you do get it off (both sides) you can compare the damaged right with the undamaged left. Honestly, a hammer might be the right tool to "adjust" it back. Just make sure you get all the damage-able parts off first (like lights).

I *think* the front support portion is one piece, and then there are a couple more as you go down and back.

You should be able to put the bike on the centerstand, and look from all angles. If everything (meaning wheels) are all in alignment and on flat level ground, any disparities in the support structure should stand out. Fairing slightly skewed to one side, stuff like that.

Looking at another ST13 and comparing it should give you some ideas also.
