It may take a bit, moving data, changing the DNS host, etc. Depending on where it's hosted, it can be anything from $75 a year to free. Joe and I will have to have some offline discussions (or e-mails) to get it moved.

And, I'm not really that mean. I may live in the South, but I"m actually from the North. Don't think I can hold a candle to that Redfish guy.

Joe, I've (finally) got my server all configured and stable. Sorry it took so long, but I really did have to make sure I didn't have any stability issues. rebooting it as often as I had to would not have been cool with the forum running on it.

Anyway, Remote into your forum, perform a full database backup, zip it, and let me know. I have an FTP site you can upload to, but it's normally turned off. I'll have to turn it on for you to hit it.

I'm going to try and import the entire thing into Simple Machines. It's missing the "View latest post" that's available in vBulletin (and I find that irritating, believe you me), but it's free, and I have it running now.

Once I get the import to work, I'll post up here, and have everyone try it out. I only want to make sure the posts and user database move properly (if anyone's worried, it's encrypted, so I can't pull the passwords out).

Not really. I was in the process of purchasing, installing and standing up 6 virtualized machines on two clustered boxes. On it's own, that takes time. I didn't even want to attempt it until I was sure my network here was stable, and I wouldn't be rebooting servers very often. Updates will still happen, and reboots will also still happen, but rebooting a virtualized machine takes ~15 seconds from clicking go to fully powered back up. Much, much faster than rebooting just about any regular computer out there.

We still haven't tested it under any kind of load. I'm trying - if this fails, we'll be right here, or done. Thinking back, I don't remember anyone else offering to take it.
