Default AAA Heads Up

I pay AAA $211 per year, for their Premier RV roadside assistance.
They say they cover recreational trailers.

I had a flat tire on my ATV/Motorcycle trailer, stuck in the emergency lane on the freeway and they refused to come out and change the tire because their was no vehicle in the trailer.

I called AMA roadside assistance ($49.99 per year) and they came right out and got me on the way.

That sounds really wrong. I'd have to ask the wife on cost, but we've got the same thing. If I was stuck with my boat or bike trailer, and they refused, it would probably be the last call (and dollar) they ever got from me.

I cancelled my roadside assistance coverage 10 years ago, saved >1200 Euro in doing so. If any day I need to pay 500 Euro for a tow or whatever, I'll be glad to.

Never been in that exact situation but, AAA's RV service has always helped me when my bike had a flat or would not start. Towed me to nearest dealership.

One time, they said that they couldn't tow me as they didn't have a flat bed trailer. Another time, the guy with the tow truck tied my handlebars and tail rail to the tow truck lift, reached under the bike and lifted the whole thing. Kind of a jerry-rigged method but, it worked.

When I'm riding, I always carry a Tire repair kit. I think I'll add one to my truck too.

The only time one of my STs wouldnt start the "safety" system for the sidestand malfunctioned but I was able to fix it myself. Plugged all the flats and aired up with either a hand pump or 12v unit. Other than that nothing else went wrong...

I like the service from AMA.
I have only used AAA twice, in the last few years.
I got the Premier service because they said I needed it if I was on a dirt road with my bike, or ATV. A couple of years later, they said they wouldn't go on any dirt road and not even paved forest roads, of which there are many, in this area.
