Default Yellow connector

Hey Guys:

I am currently repairing my bike from a recent fall. I needed to replace the upper cowl but as I was replacing the old with the new I noticed an unused yellow connector coming from the wiring harness behind the dash cluster. It is closed off from anything connecting to it and is about an inch and one-half wide, three-eights high and has several(around 10 or 12 )green wires coming to it. I haven't been able to locate it on any of my shop manual schematics but I wonder if it might be useful in some way if I ever want to add any farkles. Anybody know what it was intended for or how it might be useful?

Green wires are Ground.
The "cluster" cap is grounding all the wiring within the faring, there is a 20 pin "cluster" coming off the main ground under the tank at the frame ground (it was subject of recall on 03-04 models).

Your best bet is not to mess with the ground clusters.
Ground anything you add within the fairing to the fairing bracket and all other grounds, anything in the tail section, to a Master Ground Block, you supply, wired directly to the main ground point under the tank at the frame cross member.

Hey Paul:

Thank you for the response. It all makes sense to me and I will steer clear of it.
The bike is nearly all back together, and the Blue Ridge Parkway beckons.

If you want to add accessories, Honda has a special accessory quartet harness that you can add to the left forward side. Plugs into the main harness there and runs forward up into the faring. Provides always on, switched on and switched + accessory on options.
