Default Electricity theft

There has been a camper trailer parked across the street from my driveway, off and on for a couple of months.
For the last month, or so, it has been parked there everyday.
He has safety cones around it and trailer jacks under it.

He drives a Jeep and has his utility trailer parked in front of another neighbors house.

My next door neighbor told me last week, that her boyfriend saw an extension cord running across
The street, from his trailer, to my garage, stealing my power.

I haven’t seen it since, but my wife spotted it tonight.
I took a picture of it and unhooked it and then went to the sidewalk and whipped it until
It disconnected.

I took it in my house and called the cops. The cop came and the guy wouldn’t answer the door.
The cop took his extension cord and put it through the broken window of his Jeep, after yelling at him to stop stealing people's electricity.

We’ll see what happens next.

Sounds like a job for the City, to enforce whatever ordinance is on the book that prohibits long-term squatting. Boot the trailer then run the occupants downtown for a night or two in the county / city pokey. Maybe they will take the hint that they are unwelcome and move on.

A similar thing happened to me with an extension cord I ran out one of my windows and hid in the bushes for operations on that side of the house. When they repaved and recurved our street a few years ago a worker found the extension cord and was running his powers saw with it. I saw Him using it when I came Home from work and shut the power off. He gave me a dirty look when he saw me the next day.

We haven't got to the point yet where we have people living in trailers on our street. About 20 years ago however another motorist almost hit me head on all going to work when he fell asleep at the wheel. The cops investigated the driver didn't have a license, it was not his car, and the only document in the car was an out of date insurance card. They let him go. I was stunned but it look like they did that all the time.

Can you shut off the outside outlets without disabling anything in the house you need?

The cord ran thru a window and into an inside outlet so it was just a matter of unplugging it.

One of our neighborhoods is in favor of squatters and homeless camps. so we get them parking a lot. We have to put up with the trash and theft.

I use that outlet to keep my trailer battery on a Battery Tender.
If I shut it off, no charge.

As gag I put up my Christmas lights one year so that I could plug them into the neighbor's lights (we pull gags like that in the 'hood here). As I was sitting there giggling about how clever I'd been when the neighbor's timer turned on mine and his simultaneously, all the lights in his house suddenly went out. Oops. Overloaded a couple of circuits evidently. Sometimes the gags don't go that well.
