Not true. My avatar pic was taken the day I installed them. Standard filament H3 bulbs. Haven't replaced one yet in about 7K miles. I've run through some pretty harsh roadways, and the regular construction that happens around me here. They're the cheapest lights I could get my hands on, because I expected them to fail - quickly- but they haven't. $20 at Wally-World. Standard aux driving lights. I tend not to use them too much in traffic, in the dark, but on highways and during daylight hours, always on. Basically, whenever you'd run your brights, I turn these on.

But! Not a single person around will mistake that SOMETHING's happening "over there".

There's always the Quartet harness:

There are also several different fuse blocks you can buy, which will require a single power wire, of course, and then a switched wire to control various devices with power on or off.

Check out Adam's farkle page if you haven't yet.

Y'all may think this is overkill, but I do a lot of night riding, and a lot of long distance stuff. (IBR next year) I have a set of Clearwater Ericas, and a set of Darlas. Both are independently switched, and dimmable. On full bright, night turns into day for about 100 yards ahead of me. I also replaced the OEM bulbs with HID's, and I love them. No issues with oncoming traffic either, because they are installed and aimed correctly. Yes, I spent some money, but IMHO it was worth every penny.

Here's a photo of my setup:

Looks cool! I really don't like riding at night so I totally understand. I am mainly trying to make myself more visible. It nice you have them dimmable.
