Default Andy from MO

Just got my ST last weekend. Of all the bikes I have owned, this is the first sport type bike I've ridden. What a hoot!
Bought it to do some LDR on a bike that isn't 30 years old but still need to do some upgrades before I log any serious miles on it.

I look forward to looking around the forum for ideas and am certainly open to suggestions on improving rider comfort. (saving for a Russell Day Long already)

We will be more than happy to help you spend your money.

I wouldn't exactly call the ST a Sport Type but it's YOUR bike, call it what you like.

Welcome to the forum.

The S part of ST. Sportier than a lot of others, in the past.

Andy,
MO is a big place. From where in particular do you hale? Although I'm currently in E. Iowa, I grew up in Central MO(within an hour of CoMo) and still find myself down there on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to work out details on getting back down there permanently in the next year or so.
BTW, I totally got your "sport type" comment(as opposed to "sport bike"). My first bike was a cruiser and due to a sports injury to my hip a couple years in to owning that, I couldn't bear to ride it for more than 30 minutes at a time. I tried to deal with it for a couple more years but when I finally decided to make a switch it was a no-brainer to go with the ST1300. The "toes forward" position was such a relief! And that smooooth V4 power...sweet.
I hope you enjoy modding and riding your ST for years to come.

Andy,

Hello from Iowa also. I was down your way (if you are along the Mississippi) last month while I was scoping out a bicycle ride I will be doing in October. We are riding from St. Louis to New Orleans.

If you are anywhere near the route we could attempt to meet up and say Hi. Obviously, being on a pedal bike and a fixed schedule, I won't be able to wander off the course. But I may ride the ST back down that way next year to be able to better enjoy that route.

Later,
Mike

I'm in the Springfield area. rikSTr I understand the cruiser pain conundrum. I love my Shadow but years ago working construction I broke my tailbone so I can only stay in the saddle about an hour before the pain is unbearable. My hope in getting the ST was the difference in sitting position would help that and it does. I've doubled my seat time so now it's just a matter of building my endurance.

Yea any time you guys are passing thru just drop me a note.
