First he wants a K1600

Then he wants a VFR.

Now it's an ST 1300 again.

Clearly he should get it out of his system and get the BMW.

THEN (when tired of it) the rest of them.

I know all that. Just dreaming. Looked at a nice ST1300.

Saw a really nice 2015 FJR with a Rich's custom seat on it. Talked myself out of it. Probably good too since I got a letter from the IRS the next day saying they wanted more $ for 2015.

Then, I'm at the grocery store yesterday and bump into an old friend who just happens to be riding his BMW and wanted to show me.

Come on!

You know you want one!

My time with this BMW that I acquired has taught me something I probably already knew. I like motorcycles. All motorcycles.

You don't have to spend huge dollars to get a bike that will bring happiness and peace to your heart. If you want that big 6 cylinder BMW, get it. If you want another ST, get it. While LD riding requires some pretty specific things, just a bike to ride that will make you smile can be pretty much anything.

I almost hate this BMW but I ride it every day and I still enjoy the fact that it is a motorcycle and I am riding it.

I got the tenere. After talking with redfish, I wished I'd have waited a little longer. Now triumph is offering a huge rebate making the trophy 16k (new). I've also found 2012 ST1300's at dealerships in the crate for 12k. There will be another bike in my stable, it just won't be soon, swmbo needs a new car, but I'm also looking at the rt1200

A few Yamaha dealers throughout the country have '15A models new in the crate for $10K. That is a hard deal to beat.

I'm still breaking my tenere in, but it's getting better, and better every day. Added bumot panniers, Alt rider engine guards, and rox risers. No off road riding yet, but I'm looking forward to a TAT, and parts of a BDR, when heading west.
Nice to hear you're possibly getting back into riding Joe.

Joe, like you, I can no longer do multi-week LD riding. Given that my riding season is also only 5 months of the year, I've found the perfect bike in my '16 Versys 650 (traded in my '09 Versys for it in December). Lightweight and relatively inexpensive with typical Japanese reliability.

I spoke to SWMBO (SHE-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed) last night and "we" decided to wait for a few months for an influx of cash that we are expecting.

I can then go pay cash for a used FJR like the one I found the other day.

It's going to be very hard to wait, though.

You gonna tell Warchild you bought an FJR?

My best advice would be to get a '13 or later if you go with an FJR.
