I've already emailed him about his thoughts.

I like the looks of the 2015s but, the 2016 and 17 have a sixth gear! And, a higher cost.

My best advice would be to get a '13 or later if you go with an FJR.

Exactly. If you are going used there are too many benefits to pass up on the '13 and newer FJRs. Cruise Control!!! being one of those benefits.

You will find the FJR gearing to be about the same as your old ST1300 if you go with a 5 speed in the '06 to '15 models. The engine RPM at 55 mph is identical to the ST.

6th gear is nicer I am sure but it was not worth it to me to trade up just yet.

Don't forget the ES option on the later models too.

Well, all this musing is probably just that. We've got to rebuild our savings up after the IRS bill we just got.

So, I'm going to shelve my bike dreams for now and concentrate on rebuilding our "rainy day money" and on hunting.

Just talked to the land owner where we're going in October deer hunting and scheduled a scouting trip for a weekend in July. We're going up there to his property to see how the land has recovered from the forest fires of 3 years ago. I'm thinking that the young new growth will have attracted a lot of deer back to the area.

I need to see where a good spot to park the RV is now.

I've been taking my grandson, Ty, to the shooting range and we've narrowed his choice of rifle down to my Browning BLR .270. He's a crack shot with that. I've also given him some books on deer and hunting to review.

I'm taking my Rokon to scout with and for the hunting trip (an FJR wouldn't be a good choice for that .

After we've rebuilt the savings, I'll think about the street bike situation. Too many other things going on now.

So much for well thought out plans.

My "buddy" Mario sent me info about an 05 ST1300 that I just couldn't pass up.

Thanks a lot, "Buddy".

Mario is now on my wife's shit list.

Is this going to be an annual thing?

Fall, winter setting in, one last ride that's blistering cold, Joe thinks to himself, "I'm done with this shit. Dump the forum, sell the bike, evenings with the wife (she'll like that), and settle down for that 'long winter's nap'."

Spring comes, a beautiful sunrise. A nice warm day, the flowers are poking through the ever-more green countryside...Joe thinks to himself "This sure would be nice on a bike..."

...and the process starts again.

Once we move the forum, BTW, it's going to stay wherever it is.

The word could be indecisive. I know a lot of people that fit that moniker.
