Default Nicky back to Repsol Honda!

At least for the upcoming weekend where he will be subbing for Pedrosa at Phillip Island who suffered a broken collar bone (again) at Motegi this past weekend.

This is the second time this season Honda has requested Nicky Hayden's services as a replacement.
Lots of press on both of these requests.
Big differences in both bikes he has/will be on and light years in differences since his Repsol days.

This request is particularly interesting in that he will be on
Pedrosa's bike, the very person that cost him his factory ride.
In all fairness it was in fact Alberto Puig, Pedrosa's manager, that cost him his ride but there was no objection in the slightest from The Small TurdŽ.

HRC's choice in Hayden speaks volumes as to their respect for Hayden and his ability to adapt to and convey to the team changes he needs in setup.
After a season in WSBK on a machine seriously outdated running tires he has never used he has shown his ability to adapt publicly and quite successfully. He has a year left on his WSBK contract with HRC and HRC will deliver a updated CBR1000 for next season.
Hopefully the 2017 CBR will run with those damn green things and we will see Nicky Haydens true ability again at the top of the box.

I think this weekend will be the first time we've seen Nicky on competitive equipment since he left Repsol. I'm not talking about the 800 either but the 990 5-cylinder machine he won his world championship with. The 800 Honda GP bike never really took the challenge to Ducati or Yamaha those years.

Hayden did substitute for Jack Miller on the Marc VDS RC213V (satellite Honda) Sept 25 at Motorland Aragon, Spain qualifying 19th and finishing in the points 15th.

Competitive Equipment. Not Repsol level.
Not a bad ride considering, Micheline tires and this years software package which he has no experience with.
