Default Long Way Down and Long Way Round

Been watching these on Netflix with my wife. My wife never rode with me or went on trips with me, but she loves watching these shows! I could say to her "Yeah I did that!"

MAybe things would have been different if we saw these years ago!

She would probably have liked the combo motorcycle/food series with Alton Brown that was on TV starting about 2006 or so. It was called Feasting on Asphalt.

The show had Brown doing a coast to coast journey on his RT stopping at little eateries along the way on secondary roads. My wife & I really enjoyed it. It gave me lots of RTE ideas.

There are no full length videos that I can find on the internet but there are plenty of clips on Youtube. The series is available on DVD through Amazon:

This clip shows a get off Brown had while riding his fully loaded RT on a dirt road. It was toward the middle or end of the last season of the show. I think there were two seasons:

I thought he crashed out of season one and switched to the GS for season two.

Alton is a long time BMW kool-aid drinker.

In LWD they are riding GS Adventures.

Just started LWR and the fat one is pissed KTM doesnt think they can do it and wont give them their bikes. Looks like they are going with the GS for LWR.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feasting_on_Asphalt

"Brown suffered a motorcycle crash during the shooting of the Nevada segment, injuring his right clavicle. This injury was caught on camera and was shown in episode 4."
