Default Thinking about getting a 2007 ST

Hey everybody.
Can you give me some hints on what to look for when buying a 2007 ST?
I've been a reader on this site for a while, and finally found two 2007's for sale (one here in Charleston & one in Daytona - I travel back and forth a lot).
I know about the normal things like tire wear and oil leaks, but is there anything particular that I ought to be aware of? I'm going to be using this bike to travel I-95, but also some side trips into the mountains.
I've been wanting to buy a ST1300 for the past five years, but "life" kept getting in the way. Now that I'm about to retire, I want to have some of the fun I've been missing out on.
Thanks in advance for your help...I'll be asking more questions in the future!

Can't think of any specific problem areas to be aware of. I would make sure the recommended maintenance items have been kept up on (per the owner's manual), otherwise just the standard things that one would look for with any used vehicle, i.e., neglect, abuse, crash damage, etc.. With anything close to normal maintenance, the bike should be fine. STs are pretty solid machines

Look for the nearest empty road out of town!

Like WJB said. Just look for warning signs of neglect/abuse. These bikes are very reliable and well built. The farkles (add ons) can get spendy so getting them in the purchase can save some $$.

Good luck.

I have never before heard the words 'oil leaks' and 'ST1300' in the same sentence. I don't feel at all well now!
