BTW Echo, the ST is no longer manufactured here as it wont be Euro4 complaint but the general consensus from dealerships here is there will be a new model for next year.

And you can buy a five year old new ST13 here for $18000+ if you so choose.

Then there's a three year old new CTX1300 if you want.

Imagine buying one of those and Honda brings out an all new genuine replacement ST13 for 2018...

In the U.S. the ST was "replaced" by the CTX1300 for the 2014 model year.
It was/is a single year model. There was no 2015 model.

There is a 2016 ST1300P model (Police Model) still listed from Honda.
If this goes out of production, along with the no 2015 and assumed no future CTX model, the ST engine will be orphaned and the likelihood of ever seeing a return will be slim to nonexistent.

I had a interesting conversation with one of the Escort riders a few weeks ago. He told me the city had just taken delivery of 10 FJR1300 Police bikes.
Like the Kawasaki Concourse Police models (early versions) these are "Kit" bikes. Enterprising companies are manufacturing the needed pieces to turn showroom versions into police models then selling them to municipalities.
In this city our police fleet is/was these type models.
If I understand correctly Kawasaki bought the company that manufactured the needed pieces to convert the Concourse so Kawasaki is back in the police bike business.
In town here the Kawasaki's were not totally liked for two reasons.
It is seriously tall taking out a lot of the potential riders simply because they could not touch the ground.
There was also some complaints as to front end feel.
Packing the saddle bag, already up high, with the second battery and hanging the radio and it related stuff on a "trunk" like box up high does not lend itself to front end feel.

I have not seen any of the FJR's out and about as of yet here.

So, I just got the notice that our domain name will soon be expiring unless I renew it and I do not plan on doing that.

So, I will talk to Tom M. and make sure they save what they want to from here and I think then that March may be our last month. I think that the renewal date in the middle of April.

So, I'll say now that it has been fun and rewarding to me hanging out with you guys and gals.

and see you around the block sometime.
