Default Scorpion Invasion Riding Pants

Just purchased the new XDR (Extreme Distance Rider) Invasion Pants from Scorpion Saturday. Wore them two days this week. Very tough material and not too heavy. Did order suspenders though. Wore them with the liner and no pants in 37 degree and 44 degree weather for 40 miles. Didn't feel a hint of cold. They look well made and fit well in the 2X size for me. Have a velcro belt on either side of the pants that adjusts in a heart beat. $169 for Large and smaller. $185 for XL and larger. I had to hunt for them. The XL fit but 2X was the better choice. A comparable TourMaster felt the same size in XL. Inseam is a bit long but works fine wearing heavy boots (I'm 5'11"). Have to let you know later how waterproof they are.
They didn't have the XDR jackets but think they would look very good with the pants.

Hi Bob,

I was just looking at pants yesterday as my FirstGear overpants have become a bit too "used" and are starting to let water in.

Do you have any pics of these Scorpion pants to share? The pics on the internet don't show the detail I am interested in.

Do they zip up the sides very far? I don't like the pants whose zippers only go up a few inches from the bottom of the pant leg. Makes it too hard to get your boot through the opening (and no, I don't want to take my boots off ;-).

Thanks,

Hi Joe,

The pant zippers only go up 9 inches. I'll take some pics after work tomorrow. I guess I can load them as "attachments".

Here goes Joe. Remember I am no photographer. You just need to rotate the photos to get the best view; I tried to get as close as possible. I attached 6 photos.

Pic 109: front view; 2 waterproof pockets/2 belts with velcro adjusts
Pic 110: front view; knee padding, zippered vent above knee,non-adjustable armor underneath
Pic 111: front view full leg
Pic 112: side view zipper leg bottom. waterproof material on outside of nylon
Pic 113: rear view showing the two straps that take the slack out of the legs to prevent air flow (2 snaps). One rear zippered pocket.
Pic 114: rear view showing seat with 2 sewn leather seat grips.

Pants also have two suspender loops on the waisteband.

Good pictures! They really show most of the features really well.

Thanks.

Now I only need to find some at a shop that I can try on. ;-)

Please try them on. I had to hunt diligently and finally found a place 50 miles away that had one pair of each size. They just got them in. I already have two pair of others I have outgrown. Most of the current pants were displayed by vendors at the Indy MotoGP race here and I wasn't impressed. I jumped on these because they are really new, lighter than some, and appear very tough; compared to the others I saw. Good luck.

Or just order them with free shipping from http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ion-Pants.aspx

I plan to order a pair based on Robert's comments and the online sizing chart. Free shipping / no stax and worst case scenario ya pay 12 bucks or so and ship em back for another size or money back. Found a coupon online C10CPNPAGE5 - pasted it into the Apply-Coupons box and it worked for 5 bucks off. Thanks for the tip Robert.

I don't really like to order clothing over the internet without first trying them on as sizes can vary, etc.

Same with helmets from Europe.

I like to find them locally, try them on, and then decide whether to just buy them there or wait for a sale or buy online.

I found a pair of AlpineStar pants that I really like here in the Seattle area. The only thing that kept me from buying then right on the spot is the fact that the zippers on the legs don't go up high enough to allow my booted feet to slip through easily while putting on the pants.

I NEED to be able to quickly get into and out of riding pants while on a trip. I'm into endurance rallies and during one of them, time is of the essence.

Regards,

If anyone tries the Scorpion XDR Commander jacket (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...er-Jacket.aspx), let us know what you think about it.

It looks interesting also.

Thanks,
