Default Mirror replacement/part numbers

So, I need a new right side mirror. I pulled the broken one off and the part number on it reads 8H123R0900. The part number on Honda's site is totally different. It reads 88110-MCS-G01. Were there aftermarket mirrors available for the '06? The mirror in the Honda parts fiche looks like it's square, but mine is tapered to the outside, just like the cowl that goes around it (like every other ST I've seen). Any help would be great. Does anyone know if I can just buy the mirror, or do I need to buy the entire mount and swivel too? It obviously comes apart.
Thanks,
Rick

Honda part numbers are as stated in the microfiche; the numbers written on the parts are production or manufacturer-related (Honda does not actually manufacture most of the parts it uses) and are not the Honda part numbers. Go by the online parts diagrams, or have a dealer tell you what you need if you're not sure. (Because YOU are responsible for ordering the wrong part if YOU give them the part number, but not if the dealer does it...)

Unfortunately, Honda does not sell the mirror parts separately (it does seem a bit of a waste not to), but there may be aftermarket replacement mirror glass available? Good luck.

Ciao,

If it's just the glass broken you can take it to your local glass company and have them cut you a mirror to fit... me left mirror was broken when the bike fell while parked on soft ground and that is what I did... cost me about $10...

Gents,
Thank you for this thread. I did the same, traced the broken mirror outline and took it to a glass place, $11 for a new one.

One thing about using regular glass and not the OEM Honda stuff, it will be brighter and will be a different zoom level.

The ST1300 I just bought from a friend, he took this shortcut and I hated how it looked. Very distracting.

I ordered a Honda OEM replacement for about $98.00 and am much happier now.

I like the "cheap" options, like most everyone else, but mirrors aren't regular glass. They're not quite flat, and they're also not quite clear. They'll reflect darker in most cases, and the lights hitting you from behind will be pretty blinding with regular glass mirrors. But, if it works for you, go for it.
