If anyone is looking for a lighter sport-touring bike, this one can't be beat. After having owned it's cousin (GSF 1250SA Bandit), I can tell you that they are reliable as a hammer and it's silkey smooth engine is a torque monster. The engine has been around since 2007 so any bugs it may have had (don't know of any), have had plenty of time to be worked out. As an added bonus, the 6 speed transmission is very smooth and the gas mileage I got was great. My average mileage was 44 mpg.

When I bought my ST1300, I had owned my 1250 for a year or two. While on the 600 mile ride home with the ST, I kept wondering where all this torque was that folks constantly talked about. The answer was that I had just become so use to the Bandit's amazing torque that the ST's pickup just didn't impress me. Don't get me wrong, the ST has good acceleration but all things are relative. The Bandit just has more.

The torque is not only good on this 1250 engine, it is available across a very useable rpm range. You can see on dyno runs that the torque curve at maximum is flat as a pancake from about 2800 rpm to about 6500 rpm. This means you don't have to wring it's neck to get to max torque. The 1250 engine's generous torque is available almost right off the line. Want to pass another vehicle?...no need to down shift, just roll on the throttle and you're around in a flash. For a glimpse at the Bandit's dyno run, go to Dale Walker's Holeshot Performance website.

Had it not been for medical issues, I guarantee you I would not have sold it my Bandit.

If I could keep 3 right now, I wouldn't let it go. Here's a good review, pics don't show the touring kit. http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/model_eval...ovGSX1250F.pdf
