Default What Time Do You Stop For Breakfast?

As was mentioned in an earlier post finding people who ride the same style as you can often be a challange.

For the last 7 years I have been fortunate to ride the Three Flags Motorcylce Tour with the same three guys. Ray Blair, Holley Harrison and Carroll Walker.

For those unfamiliar with the Three Flags see the following links and sample trip report to which I take no credit. http://www.3flagsclassic.org/ http://www.motofoto.cc/three_flags_classic.htm

We are all equipped for LD riding with 11.5 to 15 gallons of fuel on board. As well, we have bike to bike communication so it is always a great ride and a lot of fun. I have to stress, this is not a race but, we don't stop a lot.

Following is an exchange with two riders.

It is before start time, around 2:30 AM in Tijuana and we are gathered by our bikes making final preparations for the 3:00 AM start.

Two riders approach us and ask if we would mind if they ride with us. Holley replies, "Of course not, happy to have you ride along."

One of the riders then asks, "What time do you stop for breakfast?" Ray replies, "We don't stop for breakfast."

"Oh...ok, what time do you stop for lunch?" Ray replies, "We don't stop for lunch"

"Ohh!!....uh...ok, what time do you stop for dinner?" Ray replies, "When were finished riding."

"Uh....maybe we'll see you guys at the finish?"

Ray replies, "Ok fine." Never did get to ride with them.

LOL,

Yep, that's Holley and Ray. Never rode with Carroll but, it doesn't surprise me.

Didn't know you rode with those guys in the 3 Flags. I was just talking to Holley about joining you guys next year.

He said, "Of course not, happy to have you ride along..."

Then he said, "I hope you can keep up."

Add a fuel cell Joe and you'll be fine. We lose most people at the gas and meal stops

By then, I should have another aux tank. Roy and I are talking about developing a tail-dragger system to compliment his pillion system that we made a few years ago.

So, I'll either have the pillion system or a tail-dragger by then.

I wanted to ride down and attend the drawing in January but, I'm not sure I can do that.

Are you going down there or just sending your entry in?

I'll just the mail in the entry. I don't suspect there will be any shortage of tickets with the current economic conditions. :>(

Yeah, that's for sure. That's the main reason I decided not to go to the drawing and to just try to buy a ticket after the drawing. My current contract expires on March 3rd so, I need to make sure I get another one before I can go spending a bunch of money like that.

If you don't stop to eat/drink do you eat/drink as you ride? I would have to eat something by 1000 or I would not be having fun..at all (smile). I think eating with a full face would annoy me. After that I could probably go till 1900 or so.

First, I just now looked at the date of those posts.

I sometimes forget to eat when traveling but it usually catches me at the next urge to pee. I never eat breakfast, usually not hungry until 1000.

Yeah, LDRiders like these guys eat and drink while they ride.

I sometimes pick up something at a gas stop to replenish my stash.
