I made it to Cody, and stopped for gas, and dinner. After a burger, fries, and a coke, I headed out on 14 heading toward Gillette Wyoming. Just outside of Cody, I'm halfway through a curve; there's a pickup truck coming through the curve in my lane fishtailing, and he's closing fast. I'm thinking the guardrail looks like the best option, as if I go over it, I'll have a better chance at survival than impacting the truck, and possibly getting run over , post impact. I was already against the guardrail decelerating as fast as I could, when he pulled it out. I don't know what happened, but I certainly don't ever want to repeat it.

The rest of the ride to Gillette was normal, I found a hotel, unpacked, and went to bed.
The next morning, I packed up, got gas, and headed out. It was 6:00 am ,I got to Pinehaven Wyoming, and stopped for a quick breakfast. I had to be home as it was Saturday, and I was supposed to work Sunday. I had over 900 miles to ride, and luckily it was mostly 80 mph speed limits.

I got to Wall South Dakota, had lunch, and took off again.

I rode over 900 miles that day arriving home to my loving wife, and ever happy, tail wagging dogs! It was 11:30pm. I loved this trip; it'll happen again. My total for the trip was over 4,100 miles.

I hope to complete another trip next year with my wife out to Virginia/North Carolina.

EEK indeed! How long did it take for you to stop shaking and settle down?

Certainly glad it ended as it did- that was the best possible outcome.

I stopped to make sure the guy was okay, he never stopped. It took me about five miles to calm down...my spidey senses were very alert

THAT is why you take pictures!

I understand how hard it can be to get the right pic at the right time to document for a RR. You start wondering if those dumbasses on the forum are worth the extra effort to deal with the camera.

Then you get home, you try to type out what you saw, what you felt, what you were thinking and...

You decide to hell with it. It is not worth the trouble or the effort. Then waiting for this site to upload the damned pictures...

You did well. You made it short and sweet, you did not overdo it, and you posted some great pics. Enough to tell some of the story without overloading it.

This forum needs positive things and this RR was good for us.

Can frames be edited out of GoPro footage to produce individual "photos"?

I don't know Paul, I don't have a go pro; I would have loved to have had one on my trip. I could have practiced editing when I got back so I could show two weeks of video in an edited three minute clip.
