Make room keep the 900F.
Best looking motorcycle Honda ever made along with the 750 & 1100F's.

After his complete and way over the limit meltdown three weeks ago we enjoyed peace and calm through the land.

A new owner posts, his favorite target, and the troll returns.

The return will be greeted with the Troll Alert.

I'm tired of his BS trolling.
Place me on your ignore list if the alert bothers you.

One nice thing about your old CB900: it has separate circuits for the front and rear brakes. Not so your new to you 04 ST13. It has a Rube Goldberg device called linked brakes where the front and rear brakes can applied together by the handbrake lever or foot control. Sounds like a good idea but you can read a description how it works in the service manual. Also you can read how complicated it is to bleed compared to the old single circuit design.

Simple: Good. Complicated: Bad.

How bad? It has something called a Secondary Master Cylinder located on the left caliper which actuates the rear brakes (well....part of them) when you apply the front brakes with the hand lever. This idiot device is exposed to the dirt water and debris coming off the road where they can cause it to stick in the on position which locks on the rear brake! Or it can partially actuate the rear brake so it heats up and catches the rubber brake line on fire!

So what you need to do it be aware of it and keep an eye on it. Change the brake fluid once a year. (a royal PITA compared to the single circuit kind of brakes) One fellow suggested kicking the rear wheel around with the bike on the center stand before riding to see if its free turning every time before you ride it. Good idea!

As these bikes age this design is only going to cause more and more problems. Your 04 is already 12 years old and will probably be running another 12 years.

Once again The Troll has sought out and targeted a new owner.
Again he uses his favorite tactic, information.
Again it is "information" based on no hands-on experience and Zero actual knowledge of the subject.
Again it has and it will continue to change the subject to him.

If your not troubled by the trolls disinformation, misinformation, incorrect, or outright lies then my advice would be the same for you.
Add me to your Ignore List.

I Will continue to post the Troll Warning each and every time Echo posts.
