If you take them both out the subframe sags downwards and the bolt holes no longer line up.

So, looking through the various threads, here and other places, I now see two sizes listed as being correct:

10x1.25x50mm long

8 x 40 mm bolts (this from dduelin here, so I'm leaning towards this one as correct).

HOWEVER...the one question I have, that I haven't seen listed anywhere else is bolt strength. Is there a requirement for a specific class of bolt for this mod? Just because no one is getting a certain class doesn't mean it doesn't require one. I'd rather find and purchase class 10.9 if they're required, than have my bike fall apart at 80. Just can't find a spec on them.

10x1.25x50 is the correct bolt.
There is no strength spec from Honda, these are not Honda bolts.
10.9 Yield Strength 940 MPa
12.9 Yield Strength 1100 MPa
Stainless A-2 Yield Strength 450 MPa
1MPa = 1N/mm2 = 145 pounds/inch2

I now have the adapter kits which allow Gold Wing bars to be mounted on an ST available. I also have powder coated black gold wing bars. If interested send me a pm (admin, should I list this in Vendor section? Don't want to run afoul of rules).

Don't sweat it, Red Dirt. Members here were asking for info from you. You weren't advertising.

if anybody is interested in a set of these anytime soon, I am going touring early friday morning (gotta get across that desert before it gets deadly hot), but I can ship until then if payment is received. This is a long tour, up to Alberta and BC, probably not back until around aug. 4.

Back in town after a fantastic 4500 mile tour (Yellowstone, Glacier, Waterton, Banff, Olympic). Ready to start shipping bars or kits if anybody wants a set.
