Default E. Iowa: Can I borrow a set of seats?

I may be headed for a predicament. Back at the end of April I finally got in contact with somebody at Seth Laam's shop to get some idea as to whether or not I could get in and out before a trip to NC starting June 19. I was told that as of that day they were scheduling production dates of May 22 with 5 day turnaround(plus shipping time, which is 4 days ground) I figured "no problem". It took me a week before I got my application submitted so it was no surprise that they told me production date would be May 28. By my computations he'd be done by June 4 and shipped back to me by June 11. I shipped the seat in time for it to be delivered to them on May 27. I have the FedEx tracking details to show it was. Finally, three business days later I get some confirmation that they actually have my seat and that "he(Seth) will be calling you in the next few days ". Well it's been a few days and no call. Now what I thought was a 1 week buffer is now down to 1 day. Unless somebody ponies up for overnight shipping I'm going to be forced to take my "wife's" bike, an '05 Victory Kingpin on this trip.
I know there are a few of us here in Eastern Iowa within easy driving distance. If it happens that mine don't make it home in time, is there anybody that could loan me theirs starting June 18 until I get back on June 27/28?

Thats unfortunate, but at least you have one being made. I have emailed 3 times and left a voicemail with them, and have never heard anything back. This was probably late April Im guessing. I will probably try again later since I'm going on a trip in 5 days or I may go with something else.

I wish you luck, i wish I had a seat to help you out

From what I've heard, Seth isn't great at e-mail. He's much more likely to answer the phone, and it's more likely still the seat will be sitting on your porch after the delivery man drops it off, just when you're getting ready to hop in your car and go for a visit.

Over on "the other forum" is a thread about Seth being unresponsive of late, presumably due to work load. Doesn't look good for meeting your need unless yours is already in production.

Being as how I need to ride my bicycle more for a while, and since I'll not be around next weekend anyhow to ride I'd offer up the stock seats from my '04 but I expect shipping costs might be a show-stopper.

Hope you can find a set in time-- the threadstarter "over there" finally got his and is disenchanted so maybe you could borrow that one if you can figure out how to get it from OK City to you.

STOC # 8824. Embarrassingly high but it's mine.
Now to try to wear it out.

I have a loaner set, front and rear. People borrow them while Russell (or others) reworked their stock seats. Shipping has become so expensive that no one has used them in quite some time. If you're willing to pay the UPS or FedEx coming and going, you're welcome to use them. I'm in Wichita, so it's probably at least two days to get them to you. PM me if you need them.

This is very kind of you. As we've both said, our meeting each other is long overdue so this would be a good excuse. Let me know the latest you would need to know to make arrangements. I plan to roll out of town around noon on the 19th. As a last resort I could run up your way some evening or that Friday morning.
Fingers crossed though, that Laam is able to surprise me.

I take.it that you sent your stock one in as a donor? How about I send my stock one down so that you have a rideable bike. Then if uou need to swap we can work something out. The Baldwin is memory foam and much more comfortable than the stick.

Just caught this thread. If it doesn't work out, I have a Saddleman Stealth you can use.
