Question:

Will the Russell Seat keep my family jewels off the tank ?
I got a bad urnary infection last week on a trip out west and
the stock seat press my lower part into the tank and did not
help my problem. (trip was a bust).

I did install a new bracket from Larry's to bring the front up
about 1 to 2 inches and that helped.

Anyway I am looking for a seat that will keep me higher in
the front.

Also what is the webe site for Russell?

Thanks in Advnace,
FrDon

http://www.day-long.com/

I just returned from a 2800 mile ride and my Day_Long kept me very comfortable the whole way. I noticed that when I put the seat on I need to be very carfull about getting it on the right setting. I get it as low as i can. When doing this it is easy to get the back end on a higher setting if you don't watch it.

As jeff said you have to be careful of adjustment.Did the day-long fix all my problems NO,i still slide forward and find the pocket is to far back.Saying that it is still alot better than stock Also LDC shorts are a good buy, they help to keep your jewels of the tank

Since the Russell is made to your specifications it can and should be ordered to fix any problem you encounter.
Mine was ordered higher in the front, to stop the sliding forward, and 1 inch taller over all, because I'm tall.
It came delivered as ordered and fixed both problems.

I had Russell customize my seat last winter in a group buy and consider it the most important mod ever. That, plus Helis have improved the ST experience immensely. They were great to work with. Check them out!

Really good stuff. Thank you all for the replies.

I love my ST1300 (05) and have added several mods and
excessories to it.

I will definitely check out the web sites.

Last year I ordered the front seat bracket from Larry and it did
help but still puts me to close to the tank. I put the risers on and
that also definitely helped.

I am only 5 foot 10 and a little tip toe on the bike; although I
think that an extra inch high would not be a problem.

I really like everything about the bike and hope to fix that
minor problem.

On a bad note:
Several of us left from Boston to Nigara Falls and than Cleveland Ohio for
the Rock and Roll Hall. It was lots of fun until I ended up the next day
with a urinary track infection and had to ware the dreaded pee bag.
I only make it back to PA (Hazelton PA.) and had to have my son
pick me and the bike up. Real bummer !!! Could not happen before
or after the trip. (355 miles pressed against the tank definitely did
not help).

Hope all had a great 4th weekend,

Don
