I couldn't get the Brake-away to work with my Honda Heated Grips.

Sold it back to the guy I bought it from.

Throttlemiester is over-priced, non-ergonomic, mechanically fiddly and doesn't do anything a Vista Cruise can't do. No brainer.

Yes it will BUT, there is always a but.
You need to be aware, if you are not already, that the Vista Cruise is a fairly old design that has not been upgraded in years. The tab you see in the picture fits between the throttle cables and it is that tab that holds the thing in place and allows it to work. Because the throttle cables would hit the fuel tank if routed downward out of the throttle housing they are routed out the front of the housing, you can not change this.
To use the Vista Cruise you must remove the tab, easily done, and drill a small hole in the Vista Cruise and the throttle housing to install a small self tapping screw. You must supply the screw, easily obtained Home Depot etc. Exercise some caution when drilling into the switch housing that you do not drill into wiring and such. Pop the top off the switch housing and blow out the chips, the can of air you blow off your keyboard will work if you do not have shop air available.

A semi-permanent attachment still requires the removal of the tab but instead of drilling a hole acquire some super strength double sided tape. Scotch/3M makes a product called Mounting Tape. Green/White plaid that you remove. It comes in two styles get the thin style. Their new command stuff might work. I call this semi-permanent because it was never intended for outdoor use and the sun tends to heat it up and it will un-stick leaving you without a throttle lock.

The whole jobs takes minutes, is easy to do, and in my opinion makes the Vista Cruise better to use because it does not move around between the throttle cables like it would on the older bikes.
When you get it there will be a small key like device included. Keep it in your fairing pocket. It is used to adjust the pinch tension and chances are that will need adjustment.

Also take note you are pulling the grip to install this thing, there is a way around that. Now is the time install different grips or grip heaters. Hair spray to reinstall the grip, it lubes then sticks.

I seem to recall that we had to use the Yamaha version on most older Hondas, for whatever reason.

Same reason. Cable routing.

I have been using the Break-Away on my VTX for 60,000 miles, have had no problems, and it works great. I would not use anything else in the way of a throttle stop. Of course a "real" cruise control would be the best choice.
