Default New to the site

Home is in Eastern Utah but I never know where I'm going to be. Work is all over. Owned three ST1100's and have been away from them for some time. Just traded a Versys in on an ST1300 and I am delighted. Great to be back on a good traveling bike again. Oh, I now have an ST1100 for sale.

Welcome to the site. No need to welcome you to the ST platform since you've been there for a while. Congrats on the new-to-you 1300, though.

I've been looking at this class of motorcycle for 1-2 months now and thought after reading copious posts and reviews that the ST1300 was my top choice. Found one that looked promising not too far away. After endless rains the day finally arrived that I could test ride it; as I've never ridden anything like that just couldn't make such a purchase w/o knowing I would like it. Since I ride a Kawasaki 800 Vulcan the ST is a big change in oh so many ways. Today was the litmus test, and sitting on it and hoping I wouldn't tip it over in the first 20 feet was an intimidating feeling- no way you are correcting this baby if it goes against you. After about 5 minutes my feeling was- wow do I like this motorcycle. I now see why so many people say they love this bike. It was fairly windy and it was barely affected. One thing I noticed immediately is how much harder it was to make it turn relative to my other bike. I got better after several minutes but there is a learning curve there to make me feel confident. But the strong, smooth engine, wonderful brakes and variable windshield and solid feel -zowiee!!
Feel like a kid that just got off a roller coaster. Pick it up in three days and looking forward to the 80 mile ride home. In the Bucket List is a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway- now its not only feasible but likely.

My ST1300A is the best bike I have ever owned.
It's heavy but manageable, most of the time (getting old and weak).
Not as heavy as a Wing, though.
