I think I would be more interested in the F6B version and then mount a small Pelican Case for day trips and a larger one for the tour.
No need to carry that big-ass box around at all times.

Are we seeing the return of the Valkyrie in the 1800 edition?


I think Yamaha has captured and will own as long as they want it the Sport Touring market.
The FJR does both Sport (bags off) and Tour (bags on) quite well.

I would also be tempted by the F6B if only it had the backward system.
