Danica kicks butt in Daytona

Danica Patrick's debut with the good old boys sporting fenders went well. Hanging around the top ten most of the race and surviving a punting into the grass by super whiner Nelson Piquet Jr that dropping her to 24th. Danica recovers to finish 6th.

Nicely done, you can smack Nelson at your leisure.

Great showing for a first-timer! She drove conservatively and survived the carnage. Piquet did surprisingly well, too. Keep in mind that this was an ARCA race, not the big boys of NASCAR.

This was the first time in a long time that I watched more than 10 minutes of a stock car race. Maybe ARCA is more interesting than Cup racing? Even the cautions seemed shorter (except for the fixing-the-fence red flag).

I happened to be home for lunch last week and Speed had British touring car racing. Now that was fun!
